Privacy notice.
1. Who is responsible
SNIPER Racing (“SNIPER”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. Our workshop is at the R-Tech Building, 24 Gericke Road, Voorbaai, Mossel Bay, 6506.
We aim to process personal information in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”). We do not sell or rent your contact or vehicle-enquiry information.
2. Information we collect
When you use the short website enquiry, contact us, book work or bring a vehicle to the workshop, we may collect:
- Your name, phone or WhatsApp number and optional email address.
- The vehicle details and the outcome or service you ask about.
- Messages, photographs or documents you choose to send through WhatsApp or email.
- Quotation, booking, job, invoice and service-history information where you become a client.
- Basic request and device information used for website security, reliability and abuse prevention.
- Website interaction and advertising-attribution data only when you allow optional analytics.
Please do not send information that is not relevant to your enquiry.
3. Why we use it
We use the information to respond to your enquiry, understand the vehicle and requested result, prepare a quotation or recommendation, arrange workshop time, perform and record authorised work, provide after-service support, maintain business records, protect the website, and understand website performance where you have allowed analytics.
The website enquiry consent is for responding to that enquiry. It does not automatically place you on a general marketing list.
4. Storage and service providers
Website enquiries are sent to a restricted Google Sheet and our internal lead-delivery process so the workshop can respond. We may also use hosting, email, WhatsApp and business-system providers to deliver the service. These providers process information under their own security and privacy terms and may operate infrastructure outside South Africa.
Access is limited to people and providers who need the information for the stated purpose. The website uses HTTPS in transit. We do not collect card-payment details through this enquiry form.
5. How long we keep information
We keep enquiry and client information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for follow-up, the workshop relationship, warranty or technical reference, accounting, dispute handling and other legal or operational requirements. Retention periods can differ depending on whether an enquiry becomes a completed job. You may ask us to delete information, subject to records we are required or reasonably entitled to retain.
6. Cookies, local storage and measurement
The website stores your analytics preference and first/last campaign attribution in your browser. Optional Google Analytics, Google Ads measurement, the Meta Pixel and anonymous first-party funnel counts are not activated until you choose Allow analytics. The first-party counts use a one-way session hash and store only daily totals for sessions and key actions; they do not store your form answers, IP address or browser details.
We do not send the free-text contents of the vehicle enquiry to advertising platforms. You can choose Essential only and still browse, call, use WhatsApp or submit the enquiry. You can reopen the choice through Cookie settings in the website footer or clear it in your browser.
7. When information may be shared
We may share the minimum necessary information with service providers that operate the website and enquiry pipeline; ATM Chiptuning Garden Route when a requested build materially includes calibration; professional advisers; or public authorities where disclosure is legally required. We do not publish your contact details or sell lead lists.
8. Your POPIA rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold your personal information, request access or correction, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, or ask for deletion where retention is no longer justified. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
You may also raise a complaint with South Africa’s Information Regulator.
9. Children
Our workshop services and enquiry form are intended for adults. We do not knowingly invite children to submit personal information through this website.
